The basic version of Photoshop is Photoshop CS2, which costs $699. Get the update called Photoshop CS3 that costs $1199. If you need even more power, get Photoshop CS4 which costs $1999.

One of the major features of Photoshop CS3 is Content-Aware Fill (sometimes called Content-Aware Fill and Replace), which is a technology that analyzes, detects, and effectively fixes, or in some cases even creates, parts of images. This chapter introduces you to this exciting new feature and provides some quick tips for how to use it.

Retouching People and Other Subjects

Photoshop offers you a lot of editing tools so you can retouch or retouch and repair photos. Photoshop not only lets you remove blemishes from photographs but also allows you to alter the appearance of people and objects in your images.

Imagine the fun you could have with photos of this dad as a kid: „I don’t look so bad, do I?“ „I still can’t believe I was actually chosen for this poster.“ „Ah, this shows the other side.“

Retouching an object is similar to editing a layer in image editing software. Although Photoshop offers many different tools for retouching photos and objects, we provide you with a simple overview and focus on the most popular tools. We show you how to retouch and alter people and objects with tools that are available in the Content-Aware tools panel. We also show you some tools you may not be familiar with, which are available under the Retouch menu.

Retouching people with adjustment layers

The most common and efficient way to retouch a person or object is to edit it using adjustment layers in Photoshop. Adjustment layers are layers that are used to make image adjustments. You can bring several layers together in an adjustment layer, making it easier to make changes to all the different parts.

Adjustment layers enable you to add or subtract light from a photo, alter colors, enhance contrast, reduce or add layers of blur, adjust the exposure of an image, and more. Some of the most popular adjustment layers are Levels, Curves, and Hue/Saturation. (To read more about the different adjustment layers, see Chapter 4.)

You can only edit a layer in an adjustment layer if you first make an adjustment to the layer itself.

To edit an object in the way we just described, follow these steps:

1. Select the object

Dr. Steven C. Tomlinson works closely with the faculty and students of West Florida Technical College’s $4.6 million Criminal Justice Institute, assisting them in creating the skills necessary to succeed in this competitive and crucial career field. Dr. Tomlinson, a professor of criminal justice and criminology at West Florida Technical College, is the associate director of the five-year institute, which was completed in the spring of 2003. Dr. Tomlinson holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from D’Youville College, a masters degree in criminology from State University of New York at Albany, and a doctorate from the University at Albany, The State University of New York. Dr. Tomlinson, who began teaching at WFTC in the 1970’s, was dean of the College of Business and Technology at the college from 1986 until 2000.

„The Criminal Justice Institute has exceeded all expectations by providing a quality instructional program that has been very popular with students and the community in general,“ said Dr. Tomlinson. „The program has accomplished a number of goals, including making WFTC a better college for the 21st century and offering the community a more practical view of the criminal justice system.“

Dr. Tomlinson is also the curator of the Tallahassee, Florida, FBI Field Office’s museum and research center in downtown Tallahassee. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the museum, which was the first field office museum, established in 1992.

„Criminology is the study of crime and the causes of crime, and I have always been intrigued by the way that the FBI and its predecessor organizations have been able to foster the study of crime and criminal justice among our academic institutions,“ Dr. Tomlinson said. „I hope that the Tallahassee museum will be as successful as the one in Washington, D.C.“

The FBI Museum traces the history of the FBI and the world of crime in Tallahassee, Florida, from the early days in the first World War, through the first quarter of the 20th century and to the present. Most exhibits are professionally researched, highly detailed, and include rare and valuable artifacts and documents. More than 20 retired law enforcement officials and educators work with and guide a collection of more than 8,000 objects.

The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m.-5 p

Also, you can connect to the BasicChatBox through the EQ API, pretty easy to use. You can find more info on that here:

Adding a custom channel widget in the BasicChatBox can be done by extending the BasicChatBox object via WidgetBuilder.
This way you can create your own listview or something else.
You will need to implement a WidgetFactory, WidgetDelegate and an API getter.

And here are the init parameters you need for the widget:
| widget: the widget
| style: a string with a style (optional)
| moreThanOneLine: if true, the widget will be more than one line (can’t be combine with align)
| align: if a value is given, it will be applied to the widget’s alignment
| width: the width

You need to define all properties that are supported by the widget, if they are missing, the widget will simply render nothing (defaults here)Q:

Prevent img/background-color-offset property from collapsing

The images in my HTML page are sized according to the actual content. For example, for a chart, the height of the chart would be 100% of the window’s height. But the background color of the entire page is set to transparent using the CSS property img or background-color-offset.
Because the image is not sized the same as the surrounding content, the background color shifts upwards due to the excess height (image below will use red for the background color instead of the #ccc color)
Is there any way to prevent the background color shifting upwards, but keep the image sized according to the document’s height (and therefore not having to set the height of the container to something like 100vh)?

The issue is that the background image is treated like a „background-color“. That is, the background-color property has no effect on the intrinsic width and height of an element’s background image.
The background-color property affects the background color of the element, but it still takes up space in the DOM.
You’ll have to either set the background-color on the element, remove the background image, or keep the image and apply the background color to the element.
